How we did it; Installation of Electric Fences in Kenya.

In this post, we will be looking at recent installation sites and in detail what each site requirements in terms of materials and equipment. Each installation of an electric fence in Kenya requires different materials depending on the scope. For instance, a top wall electric fence may require shorter fencing posts than a freestanding electric fence. Similarly, a game fence may be different from a residential fence. For instance, solar power is used to power most game fences.

Solar Powered Farm Electric Fence at Naivasha, Kenya.

Our Electric Fencing Solution: Since the area has big wild animals like buffalo, we used treated wooden posts since they don’t break easily even when pushed by big animals. We used 15 strands of 2.5mm2 galvanized high tensile steel wires to both offer security aganist human intrusion and wild animals attacks. Starfix X18i was used to power the fence. On the other hand, solar power using 150 watts solar panels was used to generate enough power for the energizer machine.

Case Study No. 3

Chain Link Fencing Installation in Kitale, Kenya.

Client Brief: Our client wanted to setup a factory in Kitale, Kenya. We were to secure the perimeter in the most cost effective way possible. A chain link fence was the most ideal solution due to the following reasons:

1: Affordability

Chain link is one of the least expensive fence materials to install when compared to other fence materials. If cost is a major consideration, this style of fencing is an excellent choice.

2: Diversity

Isn’t it true that if you’ve seen one chain link fence, you’ve seen them all? Wrong. This fencing can be modified for a variety of purposes with varied heights, gauges, and color coatings.

3: Easy to Maintain

When properly installed, this fencing doesn’t require much maintenance at all. Thanks to galvanized, aluminized or vinyl coating, it won’t rust or gather dirt. The most you may have to do is trim off any plants growing up along the links.

4: Visibility

Unlike other fence materials, chain link fencing is effectively see-through. Visibility can be a huge benefit, as it only allows you to see people approaching, but also enables sunlight to reach your property.

5: Quick Installation

Chain link fencing can be installed much more quickly than other types of fencing. If you’re on a tight timeline or just want to have your property enclosed fast, this may be a major advantage.

6: Durability

This type of fence is incredibly tough, as it’s made from interlocking coated steel wire. Plus, because the wind passes through the openings, the material is far less susceptible to weather-related damage.

7: Easy Repair

If a section of fencing gets damaged somehow – in an accident or from vandalism, perhaps – it can be cut out and replaced quite easily. And, since the coating will be a perfect match in color to the rest of the fence, the repair work won’t be noticeable.

8: Security

This strong steel fencing can create a secure barrier, keeping out anyone who shouldn’t be on your property. Additional, deterrents, such as barbed wire, can be added at the top to prevent climbing.

Our Chain Link Fencing Solution: We used 8ft high chain link fence and for added longetivity of the fence we used galvanized steel posts. Furthermore, we added 150 watts flood lights.
