Treated Wooden Choice
Our advice if you are fencing a large farm is the use of treated wooden posts. In Kenya, the raw wood is pressure treated using Tanalith C chemical. Tanalith C is also called CCA or Chromate Copper Arsenate. Tanalith C chemical that is very effective against all wood desiccants such as termites, wood rot, fungi.
The life of a raw post is prolonged to over 20 years if it is well treated with Tanalith.
Notably, the chemical impregnation process should achieve penetration of one to one and a half inch, with retention of between sixteen to twenty kilograms per meter cubic.
