What is the cost of installing an electric fence or razor wire fences?
In Kenya, Electric Fences charges at a rate that depends on the lenght of the fence and how far from Nairobi the site is.
On average we charge from Kshs 700- Kshs 900 per linear meters for top wall electric fences.
For Free standing electric fences (Treated Wooden Posts or Steel (SHS) Posts, our prices are from Kshs 1,000 to Kshs 2,000 per linear meter. For razor wire fences, 450mm diameter we charge from Kshs 300 per linear meter.
Above prices are inclusive of all materials that are needed to have a professionally done electric fence BUT not inclusive of taxes where applicable.

How can I maintain my electric fence to avoid faults and false alarms?
Electric Fences can be maintained by trimming of any tree brances that are growing toward the electric fence. Also keeping grass down for farm fences and free standing fences is the best way to have a very effective electric fence. Also check for any small animals that may build along the electric fence including bird nests or wasps.

Which Fence Energizer Machine would you recommend for use in Kenya?
There are countless energizer machines available in Kenya and each has its own strong point and weaknesses. However, we would not hesitate to recommend use of JVA and Nemtek Energizer machines for domestic electric fences. For large farms, conservancy areas and where there is chances of wildlife intrusion including elephants; Stafix energizer machines are the most recommended type of machines.
